Privacy policy — Kol Tanakh (iPhone)
Last updated: October 3, 2026 · Controller: Torá para todos (Jorge Fernández) · Contact: info@toraparatodos.com
This is the policy specific to the Kol Tanakh app for iPhone (in Spanish, Kol Tanaj) and says exactly what that app does. The general Torá para todos policy covers the website and the rest of the ecosystem.
What the app is. Kol Tanakh shows the Tanakh in Hebrew, with transliteration or with a translation, and lets you listen to it verse by verse. It is free, has no user accounts and shows no advertising.
What data it uses and what leaves your iPhone
- Reading and settings. The last book, chapter and verse you read, the audio position and your preferences (Hebrew typeface and size, text mode and appearance) are stored only on your device. They are not sent to anyone.
- The text. The Hebrew text, the transliteration and the translations come inside the app: reading does not contact any server.
- Downloaded audio. The audio files you download are stored on your iPhone, are not included in iCloud backups, and you can delete them in Settings → Downloads.
- Audio downloads. When you ask for it, a book's audio is downloaded from GitHub (
raw.githubusercontent.com) and, if that fails, from Netlify. As with any download over the internet, those services receive your IP address and the technical details of the request (which file you ask for, your system and the time) and handle them under their own policies: GitHub · Netlify. We neither receive nor store that information. If you use cellular data, the app warns you before downloading. - Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, by Google). If the app quits unexpectedly, a report is sent so it can be fixed. It contains the technical crash log (call stack and app state), the device model, the iOS and app versions and a randomly generated Firebase installation identifier. It does not contain your name, your email, anything you read or your location, it is not linked to your identity and it is not used for advertising or to track you. Google acts as the provider of this service; Google keeps it for 90 days and then deletes it, as stated in its Firebase privacy documentation.
What the app does not do
It has no accounts, no ads and no usage analytics (it does not include Firebase Analytics), it asks for no device permissions (no location, contacts, camera, microphone or notifications), it does not use the advertising identifier, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or share your data.
Links to other sites
The app has links that open outside it, in the browser or the App Store: this policy, the credits (for example sefaria.org and talkingbibles.org) and "Our apps". Those sites have their own policies.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not collect anyone's personal data.
Your control
You can delete downloaded audio in Settings → Downloads; uninstalling the app removes everything stored on your device. For any question about crash reports already sent, write to info@toraparatodos.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, it will be updated here and in the app, before the version that changes it is released.
